2018 marks 30 years Darlene Morgan LCPC has provided professional Christian counseling in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.  She was director of Christian counseling at a large psychiatric hospital and has extensive experience working with diverse populations with many different mental health and relational issues.  She is currently in private practice in Northbrook and Arlington Heights and in leadership in local ministry.

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." Martin Luther King Jr.

In addition to her commitment to her own personal, spiritual, and professional growth, Darlene earned a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University.  She has had certified training in addictions, trauma resolution (EMDR) and domestic violence. Darlene also earned a Masters in Ministry from Prayer and Word Theological Seminary in Whitewater, WI where she completed her masters thesis on personal tranformation and family intercession. She has completed all her coursework toward a doctorate in theology and ministry (ABD).  She is licensed with the state of Illinois as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (180002739).

Darlene accumulated broad experience in virtually all levels of the mental health field including inpatient psychiatric, day hospital, outpatient, and church pastoral settings.  She has experience in providing individual, group, and marital therapy in the areas of relationships, addictions, thought, mood and anxiety disorders, as well as specializing in the treatment of trauma and complex PTSD.

Additional areas of training and expertise include trauma recovery (childhood emotional, physical, and sexual abuse), codependency, ACoA (Adult Children of Alcoholics and Dysfunction), low self-esteem, boundary development, and women's identity issues.  With the aid of the Holy Spirit, Darlene is able to come alongside others who experience self-condemnation and toxic shame, and have many distortions about themselves, others, God and the world.  Darlene has over 25 years of training and experience in healing prayer and helping clients overcome emotionally laden lies. While many seek her expertise and support in their healing journey due to sharing the same theological worldview, Darlene is respectful of each person's unique history and differences. Thus, she is also able to counsel those with different worldviews.

It is Darlene's particular passion to help each person in the Body of Christ be restored to optimal spiritual, emotional, and relational health so that they can discover and fulfill their God-given destinies.
